Analysis Of Van Gogh And Ravel - 769 Words

At first I wasn t sure how the stories of Van Gogh and Ravel s stories applied to leadership in any way. But when I thought about it more they were leaders in their respective fields. With they they inspired and motivated countless individuals to pursue and emulate their work. And that is a leader by example if I have ever heard of one. Vincent Van Gogh s ability to see turbulence in his paintings is quite remarkable. Not only how realistically he typed this to what really happens in physics, but also how ahead of the times he was. While his work is considerer post impressionist, I would consider some of his pieces proto-abtractism. I had the fortune of visiting the Van Gogh museum when I lived in Germany and took a trip to Amsterdam. The way his mind worked helped change the art world. As for him painting turbulence exactly the way it is, there may be several explanations. The first of which is, his mental illness let him perceive the world in that way. Another is that he jst used w hat he knew about the world in his paintings. People before the 20th and 21st century were much more in tune with nature, and while turbulence isn t observable it still works the same on various scales. While light is different than wind and water they all still behave as waves, granting an insight into how Van goh might of comprehend the movement of light in his paintings. There is also other explanations like how holographic theory says the universe is actually 2d we just perversive it

Attitudes In Relation Behavior Individual †Myassignmenthelp.Com

Question: Discuss The Importance Of Attitudes In Relation To Behavior At The Individual Level? Answer: Introducation The purpose of the essay is to shows that attitudes predict the behaviour of the individual. Though, there is a presence of some of the variables that seem to be in place before the prediction of the likelihood of employee behaving as per the attitudes. Attitudes can create a positive as well as a negative effect on the person's behaviour. Normally, whenever we talk about the personal behavior we throw light on his or her behavior. Attitudes are a diverse grouping of things that we tend to call beliefs, personality, values, motivation, and behaviors. A specialist who has an unfriendly mentality, for example, misrepresenting collaborator's slip-ups in the group, spread gossipy tidbits, not appreciating the great work of partners, the method for expressing (rude), no responsibility for, and so forth. A specialist with these sorts of state of mind will act in like manner and in all likelihood influence people around them and act in a way that will straightforwardly put an effect on work effectiveness. Similarly, if a specialist is having an ideal disposition toward work and partners at work, for example, announcing the issues convenient and professionally, become a close acquaintance with collaborators, defining objectives that would be beneficial for you and the association in general, and so on. In another article, authors throw light on the description of the role of the humour on the behaviours; 6to better comprehend the drivers of assistants' work results, creator speculate that chief diversion assumes a flagging part identified with understudies that send understood messages about hierarchical and supervisory connections, and in this manner, influences understudies' dispositions and practices. Utilizing an example of 184 understudies selected in temporary job programs, through basic condition displaying, creator ponder experimentally analyzed the connection between boss cleverness utilize and assistant fulfillment, an expectation to stay, and careless conduct at work. Authors outcome advise that the practice of the positive attitude is connected with the high level of the intern pleasure. On the other hand, the practice of the negative has the opposite effect. Wall Street The business ethics in the movie Essay Example For Students

Wall Street: The business ethics in the movie Essay Wall Street The movie Wall Street is a representation of poor morals and dissapointing business ethics in the popular world of business. This movie shows the negative effects that bad business morals can have on society. The two main characters are Bud Fox played by Charlie Sheen and Gordon Gekko played by Michael Douglas. Bud Fox is a young stockbroker who comes from an honest working-class family but on the other hand, Gordon Gekko is a millionaire who Bud admires and wants to be associated with. Greed seems to be a huge theme of this movie. We will write a custom essay on Wall Street: The business ethics in the movie specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now This movie portrays the unethical society we live in. It shows how money oriented society has become and that people will do almost anything to get ahead. Competitiveness has become such a widespread game all over the country, especially in big cities. At the start of Wall Street, Bud Fox is young and insecure about the business world. Bud is a broker seeking new clients and offering second-hand advice regarding the buying and selling of stock. Bud was faced with a choice that would change his life. He was so sure he wanted to be involved with Gordon Gekko that he was willing to do whatever it took to be a part of his immoral scheme. It only took about five minutes for Bud to agree to give insider information about stocks to Gekko in order to become more lucrative and manipulative at the same time. Bud wants to sell him stocks, and hopefully one day be like he is. Bud is obviously desperate to do business with Gekko and he passes on some inside information about the airline company that his father works for. Gekko saw this as an opportunity to gain money from inside information and took Bud under his wing. As the relationship between the two develops Bud becomes aware of the corruptness and ruthlessness of the industry in which he works. He learns that using inside information can raise or lower the price of stocks. Bud obviously made this choice to climb the economic ladder no matter what it took. He wanted to become hugely successful just as Gekko was. There were pros and cons that had to do with the decision making. Money was the main goal of these lucrative schemes, but on the other hand, these men risked their jobs and the chance of possibly going to jail in order to be immorally and dishonestly successful. Initially Bud looked up to Gekko in an almost pathetic way, trying to do anything and everything to get himself into the right position. This movie also shows how people seem to just want things for themselves and not the community. They dont care if they use others in order to get what they want. Theres no sense of general responsibility for the public or the clients and they just want to make sure they make money, selfishly and illegally. In this situation I might be just how Bud was initially; intrigued and interested in making money. I might succumb to the pressure f making money and being successful, but in the long run I would also be just like Bud in realizing that a man isnt measured by the size of his wallet (Wall Street). I understand how hard it could be not to get sucked in to so much money so fast. But in the same sense, I do realize how immoral, unethical, and most of all how much of a risk being involved like this is. In this film, it starts off showing that individual is paramount because it shows that stock brokers only care about themselves and money and not the community. They seem to be extremely greedy and willing to stab anybody in the back to help themselves. Most of the movie shows that the individual is paramount. The only character who shows the community is paramount is Buds Father. He tries to show Bud on numerous occasions how much honest work and family is important. .u26c4d072669270bb03bbafa170759cef , .u26c4d072669270bb03bbafa170759cef .postImageUrl , .u26c4d072669270bb03bbafa170759cef .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u26c4d072669270bb03bbafa170759cef , .u26c4d072669270bb03bbafa170759cef:hover , .u26c4d072669270bb03bbafa170759cef:visited , .u26c4d072669270bb03bbafa170759cef:active { border:0!important; } .u26c4d072669270bb03bbafa170759cef .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u26c4d072669270bb03bbafa170759cef { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u26c4d072669270bb03bbafa170759cef:active , .u26c4d072669270bb03bbafa170759cef:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u26c4d072669270bb03bbafa170759cef .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u26c4d072669270bb03bbafa170759cef .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u26c4d072669270bb03bbafa170759cef .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u26c4d072669270bb03bbafa170759cef .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u26c4d072669270bb03bbafa170759cef:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u26c4d072669270bb03bbafa170759cef .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u26c4d072669270bb03bbafa170759cef .u26c4d072669270bb03bbafa170759cef-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u26c4d072669270bb03bbafa170759cef:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Catcher In The Rye And Dead Poets Society Essay Also, his father was the epitome of a moral and ethical character in the film. Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein was born on March 14, 1879 in Ulm, Wurttemberg, Germany. He was the son of Hermann and Paulina Einstein. Einstein was one of the greatest scientists, as well as mathematicians that the world has ever seen. His most famous accomplishment was his theory of relativity, however he made many other valuable contributions. Einstein attended public school in Munich and in Aarau, Switzerland. He studied mathematics and physics at the Swiss Polytechnic institute in Zurich. In 1900, he graduated and from 1902 to 1909, he worked as an examiner at the Swiss Patent Office in Bern. Einstein became a Swiss citizen in 1905. This year was a very busy one for Albert. He published three papers, which made him what we know of today. The first suggested that light could be thought of as a stream of tiny particles. This forms part of the quantum theory. Max Planck, a fellow German physicist, had proposed that the radiation of light occurred in packets of energy called quanta. Einstein used this information to state in his paper that light consisted of quanta. In a second paper, Einstein proposed the special theory of relativity. The paper was titled, The Electrodynamics of Moving Bodies, and it demonstrated the relativity of time. Later in 1905, Einstein also published a study in which he showed the equivalence of mass and energy, which is the famous equation E mc2. Which is energy equals mass times the velocity of light squared. This was a foundation stone in the development of nuclear energy. The third paper of 1905 dealt with Brownian motion. This is an irregular motion of microscopic particles suspended in a liquid or gas. The paper confirmed the atomic theory of matter. These three papers showed the world the immense knowledge possessed by Einstein. In 1909, he became a professor of theoretical physics at the University of Zurich. From 1911 to 1912, he taught at the German U

Questions to Ask When Hiring a Lawyer

Questions to Ask When Hiring a Lawyer Choosing a lawyer can be the most important decision an immigrant makes. Before hiring legal counsel, take the time to find out what youre getting. Here are the questions you should ask during an interview with a prospective attorney. What to Ask an Immigration Lawyer How long have you been practicing immigration law?- There is no substitute for experience when it comes to handling the most challenging cases. It’s important that your attorney not only knows the law but also understands the process. Don’t be afraid to ask about the lawyer’s background and credentials, either. It can be a good idea to talk to a former client and ask how things went. Are you a member of AILA?- The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) is a national organization of more than 11,000 attorneys and law professors who practice and teach immigration law. They are specialists who are up to date on U.S. law. AILA attorneys represent U.S. families seeking permanent residency for family members and U.S. businesses seeking talent from overseas. AILA members also represent foreign students and asylum seekers, often on a pro bono basis.Have you worked on cases similar to mine?- It’s always a plus if the lawyer has been successfully working a c ase that is similar to yours. Immigration cases can vary greatly and experience with your particular situation can make all the difference. What actions will you take immediately and what will follow?- Try to get a mental picture of the road ahead. Get an idea of how complicated or difficult your case may be. Take the opportunity beforehand to find out how knowledgeable and how aggressive your prospective attorney is.What are my chances of a positive outcome?- An experienced, reputable attorney will have a good idea what’s ahead and won’t make promises that can’t be kept. Be wary if you hear something that sounds too good to be true. It just might be.What can I do to improve my Chances for success?- Try to be a working partner in your own cause. Get your lawyer the documents or information she or he requires as soon as possible. Make sure you are forthcoming and that the information you give about yourself is accurate and complete. Get involved and learn the legal terminology. Can you give me an estimate of how long my case will be resolved?- It is always difficult to come up with a precise timetable when you’re dealing with the government, especially when it comes to immigration issues. But an experienced attorney can give you at least a rough estimate of what the schedule ahead might look like. You also can check on your case status directly with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. Who will be working on my case besides you?- Support staff can be critical. Ask about any paralegals, investigators, researchers or even secretaries that will be assisting your attorney. It’s good to know their names and understand their roles. If there are language or translation issues, find out who might speak your language in the office. How will we communicate with each other?- Find out if the lawyer wants to talk by phone, or communicate by emails, text messages or overnight mail. Many attorneys still rely on traditional postal services (snail mail) to do much of the work. If that doesn’t suit you, make other arrangements or hire someone else. Don’t leave the office or turn off the phone without getting all the contact information you will need. If you’re overseas, you need to think about time differentials when you’re calling or text messaging. What is your rate and your best estimate of the total cost?- Ask what type of payment the lawyer acce pts (are credit cards OK?) and when you will be billed. Ask for a breakdown of the charges and see if there are any ways to minimize the cost. Find out if there are any extra expenses that might come up.

Environmental Policy Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words

Environmental Policy - Essay Example information regarding the occurring environmental degradation [Pellegrini &Gerlagh, 2006 page3] witnessed by the soviet union, Asia, Africa and even the Latin America. With democracy, was the ability to protest against the loose grip of the authorities on the optimum use of the resources available. Thus, the democratic setup helped the cause of raising voice high enough to reach the ears of the undertakers. By exploring the link between democracy and environmental policy we can find the nature of effect that each has on other, as for instance, countries with a democratic setup have a political commitment to the people of healthy environment. And democracy is a significant positive determinant of environment protection. The UK initiatives out of region have been in the developing countries, of which the present work will limit it to India. As India is arriving in the developed country arena with the zest never seen before, the sustainability model will be largely dependent on the shoulders of the youth of the nation. The UK s sustainable development projects in India aim at Natural Resource Management, Climate change policy, mainstream sustainable development and production aiming at reduced emissions[UK - SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS IN INDIA, 2006]. World is changing, and how?, so during this time when the scientists are busy coming out with more statistical â€Å"deadlines† of natural resources remaining on earth and people are busy getting one on one with the â€Å"global warming† glossary of terms, fewer have started the leap toward new ways of living that are less daunting on our planet. People are reminded of a serious â€Å"shift of origin† like condition of the planet when researchers declare that the rising temperatures due to global warming will harm the wine industry in the regions of California or the decreasing ICE CAP for polar bear survival or the melting glaciers of the Himalayas close to India. But still now in times of severe hunger and poverty stricken countries of the world, where survival comes before living, fewer will be courageous to take report of the now termed â€Å"planet in peril†. On the positive side, there is some relief in watching the efforts of international level org anizations and NGOs come to light the way towards a â€Å"prolonged† stay here, on earth. Greenpeace, Care, UN and among others are the forth runners in this task. Scientific knowledge and policy go together hand in hand. Scientists contribute to the framing of issues and the agenda for climate change by defining what evidence they can produce and by making claims about its significance for policy-makers. The future for the environmental policy making through democratization is clearer and it is going to be a key issue for the coming organizational setups. The industrial revolution of the 1900s has had initially profound effect on the global environment which are now showing up. There is a need for table turning policies and stringent actions.

C.P. Ellis Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

C.P. Ellis - Essay Example He worked day in and day out and even worked in the week ends in order to gain some extra money but ended up being angry, annoyed and frustrated as he saw little success. With all these efforts that he had been putting, he was not even able to break even, that is to say, he was not even able generate enough income to sustain himself. With all this building up inside him, he did not know who to blame for all that was happening and who should be held responsible for his failures, one after the other. He wanted to vent out the anger and frustration upon something. Blaming the situation or the country could not help because it can not be personified. With this at his background, he joined the Klan which was meant for the anti black movement in order to 'hate' them in a formalized manner. The fact that his father was also a member of the Klan once upon a time and that his initial mental makeup was done up by his father, he was more inclined towards joining the Klan. While doing this, he assumed that this would solve his problems that he was seeing at personal level. Many members of the klan were of lower income and education and they joined it because it gave them a platform for hating and opposing the blacks, which they could not do in an equally efficient manner when they were individuals. Also, the Klan gave Ellis a certain kind of respect and recognition that he was deeply longing for, and which he had not received till date. When Ellis took the oath in the presence of more than four hundred Klan members, he felt certain kind of satisfaction for being respected and honored. 3. How did C.P. Ellis's assumptions about the Klan and those who were in power change Why did they change Ellis took great honor himself with the fact that the municipal council members would call him up from their side in late hours and spoke to him in person. He had a certain sense of importance felt with this and thus felt good about that because he had never received any such treatment when he had not joined the Klan. However, at one instance, he realized that the behavior of the municipal council men was not the same in public as it is in the private. He felt that the people in the power would avoid him in public so their associations are not revealed. This was the first instance when Ellis found that something was wrong with the people in power. He felt that the people who were in power were using the groups of black and the white by dividing them and then with their support they would be in power. Both the groups were being used against each other in order to achieve their motive. By keeping them engaged in fighting the council men made it sure that none came up to a level where they would have to share the power with them because they were unwilling to part from the wealth and the power that they were enjoying. When he tried to put this point through in the Klan meetings, he was unable to make people convince and think the way he was. Fellow members of the Klan would no believe that the people in the council were not really working fro the whites but were using them. This make Ellis
